The kitchen is open, and — of course — disaster looks as if it’s once again on the menu. The trailer for the third season of FX’s acclaimed The Bear has been released, and in case the second season closer left anyone in doubt, don’t worry: there’s no happy ending awaiting Carmy, Sydney, and the team even with their dream restaurant now open.
The trailer is very short — just 30 seconds — but a lot can happen in that time, including dishes and silverware being dropped, tensions raised, and an exchange that sums up the entire ethos of the show. “This is a dysfunctional kitchen!” Sydney exclaims as the trailer ends, prompting both Carmy and Richie to reply, “Show me a functional one.”
Watch the trailer below.
FX’s official description of the new season runs like this: “Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew, who do their best to match his intensity. Their quest for culinary excellence will propel the crew to new levels and stress the bonds that hold the restaurant together. As the team grows in size, each member will strive to reach a greater level of service within their role. In the restaurant industry, you’re never on solid ground, and with that ever-changing landscape comes new challenges and opportunities. Our chefs have learned that every second counts, but this season we’ll find out if they have what it takes to make it to tomorrow.”
The Bear season 3 drops on Hulu June 27, with all episodes debuting at the same time.
