House of the Dragon season 2 has kicked off and it’s already a wild ride. The season premiere of Max’s Game of Thrones prequel contained treachery, action, and murder.
(We can’t be too specific in case you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet)
According to one of the cast members, things are just getting started. During a spotlight panel at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, King Aegon actor Tom Glynn-Carney was asked to tease the rest of the season. “Do you not see the red dot on my chest,” Glynn-Carney jokingly said.
The moderator encouraged him, asking him to repeat what he had said backstage before the panel started. “All I said to you was that it gets tasty. That’s all I said,” Glynn-Carney replied.
I think that’s vague enough that Max won’t be upset, while still being intriguing enough to interest fans. Well done, Glynn-Carney.
At another point in the panel, Glynn-Carney spoke about how excited he is for viewers to finally see what they’ve been up to in season 2. “It’s good. It feels like we’ve waited a long enough time now to get the show out there and share it with everyone. It takes a long time to make something like this. It’s good to get it out there.”
Glynn-Carney went on to say that this season has given him an opportunity to explore more of King Aegon’s psyche. “His unpredictability is something I wanted to tap into. His vulnerability as well, that’s something important to remember when you play someone like Aegon who is quite volatile. To sort of get into the causes of that behavior. That to me was interesting, to get into the psychology of him, rather than turning up and being a big bad villain. I’d get bored pretty quickly if I did that.”
House of the Dragon season 2 is currently streaming on Max, with new episodes every Sunday through August 4. Check it out, I hear it’s going to be ‘tasty.’
