In 2022 She-Hulk rocked Daredevil’s world, and now Charlie Cox wants an encore performance.
Daredevil and She-Hulk shared an unlikely romance in the 2022 Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The two heroes sparred in the courtroom, tangled on the rooftops, and found passion in the bedroom. This was a surprising direction for Marvel’s two legal heroes, who had a much different relationship in the comics.
Speaking to a crowd at Awesome Con 2024, Charlie Cox reflected on Jennifer Walters and Matt Murdock’s wild fling. “The Jen Walters stuff, we haven’t really gotten a chance to explore it much,” Cox began. “Hopefully one day we’ll get an opportunity to do more stuff together, because I absolutely loved working with Tatiana [Maslany]. She’s an incredible actor.”
Cox then spoke about the way Daredevil was portrayed in the series, which was a departure from his dark and broody nature in his Netflix show. Cox had a simple explanation – Matt Murdock was on vacation. “That felt like a fling outside of your zip code. When I was thinking about doing that show, I was like, Matt is typically more heavy and burdened, and doesn’t really go on vacation. He’s not that guy. I was thinking it’s like one of those things where he’s in New York, he’s in the grind, he’s trying to solve crime by himself, but he has to go to LA, and when he’s in LA, he’s like, ‘This is fun.’ And he kind of has a good time. That’s how I saw it. We did the walk of shame. It’s so funny, it really divides people. Some people loved it, and thought it was really funny, and very Daredevil, and very enjoyable. Other people get really cross about it. It’s really funny.”
According to recent comments from Maslany, a second season of She-Hulk is unlikely. However, their romance can still be explored in another Marvel Studios project. Who knows, maybe Jen will pay Matt a visit during Daredevil: Born Again. Lawyers need loving too.
