Christian Bale frightens as Gorr the God Butcher in all-new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer
See the first reveal of Gorr the God Butcher in the newest trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder
The first full length trainer of Thor: Love and Thunder just dropped, and it is full of amazing new reveals. First things first, we hear good old Korg telling the wonderful story of Thor setting off on new journeys, going from "dad bod to god bod" and "reclaiming his title as the one and only Thor." But it turns out Korr has spoken too soon, as we see Thor calling a glowingly refurbished Mjolnir to himself—only to see if zoom away into the hands of the now more worthy Jane Foster.
Thor seems fairly shocked about the Mjolnir running away thing, but he's even more shocked that it's flown away into he arms of his old girlfriend. But no worries, there still seems to be a bit of chemistry between the two, and we see a couple sparks fly during a few moments in the trailer.
In this trailer, we get our very first look as Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. What we see if pretty much what we expect out of Gorr—yadaa yaa, gods only care about themselves. Yadaa yaa kill all gods etc., but this is the first time we get a glimpse of what he's going to look like. To be honest, he doesn't look wildly different from a lot of other painted Marvel villains (though he is painted white instead of blue/red/purple), but at least his cloak is kind of cool.
Of course, we also see more action, interesting sci-fi visuals, and a little more of Russell Crowe as Zeus as he accidentally magically disrobes Thor and causes the majority of his small contingent to faint at the sight.
Overall, the trailer is full of energy and teases romance, action, and plenty of comedy as well. We're certainly looking forward to watching Thor and his friends romp through space (we've got our fingers crossed for a glimpse of space sharks!) on July 8th.
