Marvel has been having some printing problems over the past month with its weekly comics - and while the company has told retailers it's simply "isolated printing flaws," those "isolated" flaws have persisted across eight different publications in a matter of four weeks.

The company has informed retailers that it is ordering complimentary reprints of five various titles for those who are complaining of issues with the original versions. The publisher is telling retailers that these flaws aren't present in the entire print runs of all eight comics, but in only in some copies of each run.

"Please be sure to report your flawed copies and put in for replacements as soon as possible," Marvel has told retailers.

Here is a list of the titles known to be affected, along with their original release date:

  • Alien #2 (December 20, 2023)
  • Darth Vader #41 and one of its variant editions (December 20, 2023)
  • Doctor Aphra #39 (December 20, 2023)
  • Star Wars #42 and one of its variant editions (January 10, 2024)
  • Ultimate Spider-Man #1's Nic Klein and J. Scott Campbell 'virgin' variant editions (January 10, 2024)
  • Star Wars: Thrawn Alliances #1 and four variant editions (January 24, 2024)

Marvel uses several different printers for its periodicals, and as of writing, we've been unable to determine as of yet if these all came from the same printer.

If you have a copy you think may be flaws, the best course is to approach the vendor for which you bought the comic from for methods on a replacement.
