The dates for Comic-Con International: San Diego 2023 have been confirmed, with the event running Wednesday, July 19 through Sunday, July 23 - and industry professionals are already able to sign up for passes for next year's show.

Professionals planning to attend next year's Comic-Con International: San Diego can sign up online right now to apply for a professional pass to the event, using their existing Comic-Con Member ID. For those who don't already have a Comic-Con Member ID, the application process is open until September 30, at which time anyone applying for professional status will be pushed to 2024 status. The application form is available here for those to whom it's applicable.

Information on general ticket sales for the public will be released at a later date, although Comic-Con International has also opened its validation process for transferring Child ticket status for under-12s to Junior status, for those aged between 13 and 18.

Next year's dates fall into the regular pattern of the show taking place on the next-to-last weekend in July that's been in place since 2016.

And Comic-Con International: San Diego is set to remain in San Diego for at least two more years, given a contract signed with the city in 2021 - although the next year would seem to be when negotiations for where SDCC will be in 2025 and beyond would begin in depth.

Back in 2015, Comic-Con International: San Diego received sizeable offers from other cities - including Los Angeles and Anaheim - to relocate the convention. Although those offers were considered, the convention's organizers renewed their deal with the city of San Diego - a deal that includes sizeable discounts on rental of the convention center itself, as well as a 2% cap on annual hotel price increases.

According to the San DIego Convention Center Corporation, the 2022 Comic-Con International: San Diego is expected to bring in $164 million to the area - with $3.2 imllion of that being tax revenue from hotels, restaurants, and other vendors.

We've already added to our growing comic conventions schedule.
