Image Comics signs new distribution deal with school library program LibraryPass

The new agreement will make Image titles digitally available for thousands of readers

Image Comics/LibraryPass

Image Comics has signed a new distribution deal — one that will make its back catalog more available to libraries and schools, courtesy of LibraryPass’ Comics Plus program.

LibraryPass curates digital content for K-12, public, and academic libraries, with its Comics Plus program offering unlimited access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga from publishers including Yen Press, UDON Entertainment, Boom! Studios, IDW, Dark Horse, and, now, Image. More information about Comics Plus can be found here.

In a statement, LibraryPass’ Chief Content Officer Guy LeCharles Gonzalez said, “We are excited to welcome Image Comics to the ‘Read All The Comics’ family. They’re an innovative publisher with a compelling backlist that includes some of our most requested series and creators, and our readers will be thrilled to be able to read them on Comics Plus.”

"Image Comics is thrilled to partner with LibraryPass in bringing our diverse catalog of comics and graphic novels to libraries and schools across the nation," added Chloe Ramos, Image Comics' book market & library sales manager. "We were particularly excited about offering our books through Comics Plus, because of its innovative unlimited access model, which we feel is the future of equitable digital library circulation. We've long said that comics are for everybody and with LibraryPass, we can really bring everybody comics, with no waiting and no hold lists!"

Series already added to Comics Plus include The Walking Dead, Saga, Monsters, and Kick-Ass, with more set to be added across the upcoming months.

Libraries play a huge part in helping readers discover new comics; read about the role the ALA plays in that.
