What would you do to protect your kids? This is the question at the center of Halle Berry's newest film, Never Let Go. The film, which debuted its first trailer at Lionsgate's presentation at CinemaCon 2024, focuses on a mother and her sons and the thing - or things - that haunt them in the woods around the house that they never leave.
Halle Berry took the stage after the trailer debut to talk about her work on the film, sharing with the audience that she was particularly excited to work on a horror film, citing The Shining as one of her favorite movies when she was a girl. “I am a bona fide adrenaline junkie," Berry said, "The bigger the roller coaster, the higher the bungee jump, the longer the zip line, I'm your girl.”

When Adam Fogelson, Lionsgate chairman, asked Berry how her experience as a mother affected her interest in the role, Berry responded, “It's everything. The world [of the film], yes, is very foreign to me, and it was foreign to these two young performers who played my sons… but what draws me is being a mother. Since I became a mother 17 years ago, playing these kinds of roles has wildly excited me. Cause I know what its like to be a mother… I would protect my children with my life… What would you do to protect your children? I think this role really allowed me to take that to the limit.”
Never Let Go is directed by Alexandre Aja and will debut in theaters on September 27.
