Now that the world of cinema has mostly recovered from the strikes that brought Hollywood to a standstill in 2023, theaters have become incredibly packed. Dune 2 and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will both stake their claim on the box office before Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire gets to take a bite, so you might end up waiting until it hits streaming services before you can catch the latest MonsterVerse film. If you’re wondering when and where you can stream Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, here is everything we know.
Like most theatrical releases, we don’t expect the latest entry in Legendary’s MonsterVerse franchise to be available to stream immediately – at least, not legally. So far, there hasn’t been a firm announcement about when Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will land on streaming services, but that doesn’t mean we’re completely in the dark. We can at least speculate which streaming service will carry Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
You can find individual entries in the MonsterVerse franchise scattered around the internet. Notably, Apple TV+ carried the series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters when it debuted in late 2023. Apple TV+ currently has a holding page for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, though it doesn’t list a specific release date. This suggests that, eventually, the new movie will find its way to Apple’s streaming service.
However, the other four movies in the series can all be found on Max. Godzilla vs. Kong did very well for the streamer when it was released, which suggests that the sequel will make its way to Max in the next few months. How soon that happens will probably depend on how well Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire does at the box office – if it is a flop, the studio will try to make its money back through streaming a bit sooner. Until we hear an official announcement, we just have to wait and see.
Whichever giant monster is your favorite, Popverse has you covered. We have a guide to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire's ending (and what it means for the broader MonsterVerse), as well as watch orders for both Legendary's MonsterVerse and Godzilla's overall movies, as well as why Godzilla Minus One left theaters early (and why New Empire could be to blame!), and if you're a Popverse premium member, a New York Comic Con-exclusive interview with the cast and crew of Legendary's kaiju-hunting drama Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
