Gen V: The Boys spinoff introduces a new class of supes - we take a look at the incoming cast

Amazon's salacious superhero sendup is getting a new chapter; we asked which new and familiar faces we'd be seeing

If you thought that the world of The Boys couldn't get any crazier, Gen V will soon be here to change your mind. The spinoff, which takes place in a world of superhero celebrities and their crimes against humanity, is about fledgling 'heroes' attending a super-only college.

Just like The Boys before it, we expect there to be a host of memorable characters making their debut in the adults-only superhero series. So we decided to take a quick look at Who's Who in the cast of Gen V. Let's start with the freshmen.

Who is in the Gen V Cast?

  • Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau
  • Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer
  • Clancy Brown as Prof. Rich Brinkerhoff
  • London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li (NOTE: This character, played by two actors, changes genders)
  • Shelley Conn as Indira Shetty
  • Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy
  • That's the main cast of newbies we'll be introduuced to when Gen V drops on September 28. But remember, this is a spinoff, so it's only natural to ask:

Is anyone from The Boys going to be in Gen V?

We took a little trip to the Amazon-owned IMDb to answer this question, and the first familiar name we caught was Colby Minifie's. Minifie plays Ashley Barrett, the CEO of the sinister Vought International and a ruthless businessperson. According to IMDB, she will appear in one episode.

Next, we found P.J. Byrne on the list. Byrne plays Adam Bourke, a film director. In The Boys, Bourke made a film called 'Dawn of the Seven,' which underwent extensive changes and lead to something called the 'Bourke Cut' (if you think he sounds like another popular superhero director, you're right). Bourke will apparently serve as a professor at Gen V's Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. He is also credited as being in one episode.

At this point, you're probably wondering if The Boys spinoff will actually feature any of the superhero show's...well, superheroes. As of this writing, we can only confirm that one previously seen supe will feature in Gen V. But the good news is: he's a major one.

Jessie T. Usher who plays A-Train, is enrolling in Gen V.

Fans will remember A-Train's importance to the plot of The Boys. If it wasn't for his juicing on Compound V, Jack Quaid's Hughie Campbell would've never gotten involved with Billy Butcher, and we wouldn't have a show.

A-Train, like his fellow Boys castmates, is set to appear in one episode.

So while folks hoping for Homelander might be disappointed, you can see that Gen V won't be without some familiar characters. And keep in mind, this is just the beginning. If Gen V is a hit, it could mean plenty more crossover characters (or hell, even more spinoffs) to come.

The only way to get to know The Boys characters before Gen V comes out is to watch through the franchise. Luckily, Popverse has a watch order for The Boys to help you do jst that.
