For those who can't wait for Gail Simone and David Marquez' first issue of Uncanny X-Men coming in August, there's a lot more to come. At Gail Simone's spotlight panel at WonderCon 2024, the writer shared as much, telling the audience that there will be 18 issues in the series in its first year (as Popverse contributor Jules Chin Greene reported in his liveblog of the panel). That's a lot of Uncanny X-Men to look forward to.

Also shared in the panel was the fact that Simone's Uncanny X-Men comic will be a Southern Gothic tale set in Louisiana. Fans who love new characters will be excited to hear that there will be four new young mutants who will show up in this book.

For those who can't quite wait until August to catch a glimpse of Simone and Marquez's take on the Uncanny X-Men, there will be a preview of the comic in the Free Comic Book Day 'From the Ashes' sneak peek.
