You're about to learn that the world of fire and blood isn't limited to just Mad Max.

The first trailer for the spin-off (and prequel) to the Mad Max movies is here: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Taking place prior to the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, this follows Charlize Theron's character as she gets pulled into the biker life - but its at an age so young that they recast the role with Anya Taylor-Joy, who brings her own energy and fearful stare to the role.

Take a look:

Don't get lost on this road - as the opening of the trailer makes clear, Furiosa is set before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road. Here's a road map on how to watch the entire Mad Max (and Furiosa) saga.

Furiosa features an almost all-new cast - but thankfully creator/writer/director George Miller returns to keep the continuity of the series. He's receuited Anna-Taylor Joy as a young Furiosa, joined by Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Quaden Bayles, Danel Webber, and Lachy Hulme. Fury Road's Rictus Erectus (Nathan Jones) and the Organic Mechanic (Angus Sampson) are back, though.

In this, Taylor-Joy's young Furiosa is shown being taken away from the Green Place of Many Mothers an in the hands of a biker horde - no not, Immortan Joe's horde, but another led by a new character named Dementus (Hemsworth). That doesn't mean that we're at a loss for familiar faces, as can be seen... and, of course, fans should expect Immortan Joe in this one, somehow.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is scheduled to hit theaters May 24, 2024. The trailer made its debut at CCXP in Brazil, where fans also got to take home the first teaser poster for the movie.
