Farewell, Popverse - signed your deputy editor
A parting letter from Popverse’s deputy editor Tiffany Babb
Two years is a long time and simultaneously no time at all. At least, that’s what I’ve been feeling as I wind up my time at Popverse. When Editor-in-Chief Chris Arrant first brought me onto this project, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was exciting and terrifying, and exactly what anyone should be feeling at the beginning of an adventure.
And what an adventure this has been (literally too, as there has been a lot of travel over the past two years), helping shape the site, meeting new people, and learning how to be Popverse’s Deputy Editor as well as be a reporter, a moderator, and sometimes even a creator of amateurish videos.
It’s been a wild ride, and I thank my colleagues, past and present: Mike Armstrong, Ashley V. Robinson, Veronica Valencia, Jimmy Goddu, Jeremy Ross, Illianna Gonzalez-Soto, Trent Cannon, and Grant DeArmitt for their hard work, creativity, and friendship. Thanks as well, to all the writers I have had the pleasure of working with (working with writers is, of course, the very best part of this job).
But thanks, most of all, to Chris Arrant and Graeme McMillan, who have been so wonderfully supportive over these last two years. It’s a gift to have a crack at a job like this in an industry like this, and to have all that as well as colleagues who are an absolute hoot to work with and have your back is rare indeed.
And of course, thank you to the readers and supporters of Popverse. It's been a delight to see the site grow and change over the past two years, and that would not have happened without your support.
If you want to keep up with my writing and other exploits, the best way to do that will be through my monthly newsletter or following me on Twitter. And, of course, you'll still see my name pop up at Popverse from time to time. I enjoy writing for Popverse far too much to be gone forever.
Until then, I'm signing off,
Your former Deputy Editor, Tiffany Babb
