The Cosplay Showcase is where fans and cosplayers can showcase their craftsmanship in style. This event is open to all cosplayers and is an opportunity for fans of all levels to strut their stuff in their hand made costumes on the main stage. The Cosplay Showcase will take place on Sunday. There are prizes (for over 18s only) but cosplayers are free to take part just for fun if they do not wish to be judged. Family Groups and Juniors (13-17) are welcome to take part.

NYCC 2021 | The Cosplay Central Crown Championships at NYCC, Presented by GEICO

The EuroCosplay Championships and the Crown Championships of Cosplay have joined forces to create one global competition: The Cosplay Central Crown Championships! The global final will now be held at MCM London Comic Con in October 2022 and beyond. Entrants for the Cosplay Central Crown Championships will be able to choose between recreating a character design and being judged for accuracy or creating their own design based on a recognizable pop-culture character and being judged on the design and interpretation of their given starting point. The ability for cosplayers to choose their own competition path embraces the full scope of cosplay creativity. Craftsmanship is still at the heart of the championship. All of the entries will have their costume construction closely inspected by our judges before they take to the stage and show off their creations with incredible costume presentations or scripted performances inspired by their characters.

Infusing geekiness into everyday fashion is easier than it’s ever been thanks to the growing nerd fashion industry. However, it still takes some creativity and an arsenal of tips and tricks to put together a stylish nerdy wardrobe. We’re bringing together a diverse lineup of geeky fashion bloggers to give our audience styling tips that they can actually take home to their own wardrobes. Each of our panelists will showcase a unique geeky style (for example a cutesy kawaii look or a vampy outfit inspired by Nadja from What We Do in the Shadows). Our panelists will discuss their outfit providing helpful tips about how they put it together and how others can replicate it (like tying a knot in a boxy graphic tee or pulling colors and textures from fictional characters into a bounding look). STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) education has become the norm for curriculum across the country. Often, it starts too late. Out-of-school learning is imperative for children. It is important for them to start STEAM education at a young age in order to establish their own learning path. Who better to get them safely on that path than a bunch of superheroes? The merger of STEAM-based learning comics and cosplay is a natural fit. It opens the world of STEAM to the very young in a way that is hands-on accessible and engaging. The art of cosplay covers many of the basic tenets of STEAM curriculum. Teaching children utilizing cosplay can be a strong bridge between formal and informal learning. Together the panel will bring ideas on how to make the world of STEAM immersive educational open and alive for the very young.
