Like all major comic heroes, the Eisner Award for comics journalism is back from the dead

Congratulations to the nominees of the 2024 Eisner Awards - especially our journalism colleagues.

As Popverse reported on several weeks ago, the Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards have decided to re-instate the 'Best Comics-Related Periodical/Journalism' category (AKA the Comics Journalism) category for its 2024 awards.

The news was confirmed May 16 when the Eisners' parent organization, Comic-Con International, released the nominees for the 2024 Awards. This turnabout comes four months after the Eisner Awards committee removed the category from its list of honors, stating it was being merged with another category.

This isn't the first time the Eisners killed the Comics Journalism category, only for it to be revived; in fact, this is now officially the second time. Not even Superman has pulled off two separate resurrections, making comics journalism more powerful than the Man of Steel - officially.

Congratulations to the nominees for the 2024 Eisner Awards, especially our colleagues in the 'Best Comics-Related Periodical/Journalism' category.'
