Doctor Who is finally back, and it's back with a splash (and some pretty decent viewership numbers) - with David Tennant and Catherine Tate reprising their fan favorite roles as the Doctor (though this time as the 14th instead of the 10th) and Donna Noble. Doctor Who has long had a reputation as a family show that happened to get kids to hide behind their couches in fear. Now, at the long-running sci-fi show's sixtieth anniversary, is the show still appropriate for children?

What is the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special age rating?

So far, we only have the rating for the first (of three) anniversary specials titled The Star Beast (if you want our spoiler explainer of the special, click here). Noting that, Doctor Who: The Star Beast has a TV-PG rating, which means, according to TV Parental Guidelines that it includes "Content that contains material parents may find unsuitable for younger children." In other words, the show is fine for older kids, but you might just find the younger ones hiding behind the couch.
