Eagle-eyed comic book readers have spotted a potential cameo in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer that would tie into one of Logan's most unique runs.
Fast-forward to the 1:20 time mark in the teaser and you'll see a look from behind at a character who very much looks like Logan. Zero surprises, right? Hugh Jackman is literally the co-star of the threequel. Well, think again if you haven't picked up on what's special about this seemingly random shot.
The white tuxedo and the high-society, rich setting of the scene kind of give away this is actually Patch, the alter ego which Logan adopted for a while during his stay in Madripoor (already introduced in the MCU). The persona (don't call it a variant), is a long-time part of Wolverine's history- and one Marvel has been re-emphasizing in recent times including a Patch-specific comic book series.
With Deadpool & Wolverine's teaser trailer confirming the movie is very much a multiversal adventure (TVA included) that will take the two characters to unexpected places, we're fully expecting to meet many variants of famous Marvel characters (hell, even Pyro is back), and that will probably include the two stars of the show.
Other rumored actors and characters making a return include Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, and Ray Park as Toad. Whether these inclusions turn out to be real or not, we're fully expecting this multiversal chapter in Deadpool's personal arc to be jam-packed with cameos from all over the Marvel multiverse.
