The newest issue of Paul Dano and Stevan Subic's The Riddler: Year One is out this month, and it looks a little different from your typical comic book issue. The Riddler: Year One #5 will take the form of Edward Nashton's journal, revealing his plans to take down corruption in Gotham City and his slow decline into becoming The Riddler that fans know and love.

According to a statement from DC, "This issue provides a haunting glimpse into something that was never meant to be seen, the mind of a tortured genius at the breaking point. As Edward spirals deeper and deeper, his writing becomes more and more disturbed; by the issue’s end, a turning point will be reached, and the menace that is The Riddler comes that much closer to being unleashed on an unsuspecting Gotham City."

You can check out some of the pages of the Riddler's journal in the preview gallery below.

This issue of The Riddler: Year One will feature a main cover from Bill Sienkiewicz and variant covers from series artist Subic, as well as Nightwing artist Bruno Redondo, and Christian Ward. Check out the covers in the gallery below.

The Riddler: Year One issue 5 is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and from your local comic shop.
