Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise their roles as Daredevil and the Kingpin in the upcoming Disney+ series Echo, starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Since the shift away from the interwoven world of the Netflix Marvel shows, those superheroes (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and others) have mostly remained dormant. That was, until Charlie Cox's recent had a cameo appearance as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and D'Onofrio's character Kingpin was revealed as a major villain in Hawkeye. Now, it looks like Marvel Studios is taking the next step to integrate at least part of these previously tenuously connected sides of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

These recent choices illustrate Marvel Studios' interest in keeping at least some of the (presumably, more popular and successful) material they've created for Netflix. According to the Hollywood Reporter, there are rumors that Kristin Ritter's Jessica Jones will also appear in Echo - though this has yet to be confirmed.

Earlier in May, Variety reported that there is a new Daredevil series in the works for Disney+, so perhaps Daredevil and Kingpin's appearances in Disney+'s new Echo television show will lead into this new series or at least hint at the plot and themes that this new series will feature.

Echo is currently filming in Atlanta with a release date set for sometime in 2023, where it will stream exclusively on Disney+.
