Brandon Lee's The Crow returns this year in a glorious 4K HDR edition
On the 30th anniversary of the Crow (yes, we're old), it's returning with an all new edition
The 1994 film The Crow began with the death of its lead character, and ended with the tragic death of its lead actor. The film became a phenomenon, with the story-behind-the-story - that of the tragic on-set death of actor Brandon Lee - giving the already-morose-but-inspiring story an eerie ominousness that made it one of the quintessential tragic love stories (and goth) stories of the '90s.
And now, 30 years later, Brandon Lee's The Crow is returning in an all-new 4K HDR restoration of the film, to be streamed this year on Paramount+ .
This was revealed by the film's original director of photography, Dariusz Wolski, on his Instagram.
"This week I was asked to supervise the 4K HDR Version of The Crow, Directed by Alex Proyas shot by me. Seeing it again was truly emotional," writes Wolski.
For his part, Wolski has gone on to an epic career including his recent work as Ridley Scott's DP of choice on such films as Napoleon, House of Gucci, and Alien: Covenant.
While you wait, the original version of the Crow is available to stream on Paramount+, Amazon Prime Video, MGM+, Sling TV, The Roku Channel, and Philo.
