Critical Role: Which campaign is your favorite so far?
Vox Machina, The Mighty Nein, or Bells Hells: you have to pick one in our... Critical Poll (Sorry)
It’s no secret that Critical Role is a very, very big deal — and that Critters are very vocal and very loyal in their fandom for the show, as well as for specific characters and concepts from specific campaigns. (It’s also no secret that everyone loves Matt Mercer, but I think we can just take that as read at this point.) But here’s a question that might be a little less easy to answer: what’s everyone’s favorite Critical Role campaign so far?
There have, to date, been three different campaigns since the show debuted back in 2015:
- The Campaign of Vox Machina, featuring Vex’ahlia, Vax’ildan, Percival de Polo, Pike Trickfoot, Keyleth, Scalnan Shorthalt, Grog Strongjaw, Tiberius Stormwind, and Taryon Darrington (amongst many, many others), which ran from March 2015 through October 2017
- The Mighty Nein, featuring Jester Vavorre, Mollymauk and Kingsley Tealeaf, Caduceus Clay, Yasha Nydoorin, Caleb Widogast, Beauregard Lionett, Veth Brenatto, and Fjord (amongst, again, many others), which ran from January 2018 through June 2021
- Bells Hells, featuring Imogen Tumult, Ashton Greymoore, Fearne Calloway, Orem, Luanda, FCG, Bertrand Ball, Chesney Pock O’Pea (and, you got it, many others), which started in October 2021, and is still going
In order to definitively, once and for all, and never-to-be-questioned-ever-again settle the matter of what the greatest Critical Role campaign is, we’ve decided to do the obvious thing: make fans fight to the death about it. No, wait, I mean, “invite all the Critters to take part in an online poll, thereby allowing democracy to serve its natural role and let the voice of the people give us a final answer.”
The terms and conditions portion of this poll is very straightforward: we’re looking for people to select their favorite Critical Role campaign, which means that the one-shots aren’t included or eligible for write-in votes in the comments below (although, feel free to use the comments below nonetheless; just be nice in the spirit of the season, please). Choose your favorite, and feel free to tell your friends to also choose your favorite, because why not…? And, most importantly: let’s all remember just how dark Bells End might get when weighing up your rankings. (Sure, it’s not canon yet, but who can say…?)
The poll’s right below. Vote early, vote often, as the saying goes.
All voted? Great! Why not congratulate yourself by watching the New York Comic Con 2023 Critical Role panel as a treat?
