Chip Zdarsky's The All-Nighter is coming back for one last bite at the big time

Zdarsky and Jason Loo's vampire diner drama returns at ComiXology Originals on Halloween

It’s managed to make it through Heaven and Hell — well, really, mostly just the latter, if we’re honest — but Chip Zdarsky and Jason Loo’s The All-Nighter is about to close its doors, with the ComiXology Originals series returning for its third and final season launching at the end of this month.

It’s safe to say that the All-Nighter has never been your average nighttime diner — and not just because the staff there are particularly averse to spending any time in the sun and have a tendency to want to drink blood every now and then. But there’s more going on than Alex, Joy, Cynthia, and Ian being vampires; they’re also part-time superheroes, as well. (They do have greater than human abilities, after all.) As the final run of issues launches, however, events are getting even more surreal and dangerous than before, as the remaining staff — yes, I said remaining — realize that desperate times call for desperate measures if they want to rescue Alex from The Takers. Maybe it’s time to finally start living up to their potential after all.

“I’m impressed at ourselves for raising this family of vampires and seeing how they’ve grown throughout this series,” said co-creator and series artist Jason Loo in a statement, adding, “Expect tons of MONSTER MAYHEM in this final volume!” Zdarsky was feeling similarly happy with how the series has turned out, saying, “I’m incredibly excited to bring our vampire family adventure to its epic conclusion! We’ve taken them from flipping burgers to fighting crime and I can’t wait to show everyone what’s next!”

In addition to Zdarsky and Loo, the series features work by Paris Alleyne, letters by Frank Cvetkovic, and edits by Allison O’Toole. Fans wanting to catch up on the series to date can find all previous issues on ComiXology, with a print collection of the first five issues already available from Dark Horse Books; the second season, collecting #s 6-10 will be released in December 2023.

The third season of the digital series will begin with #11 of the series, debuting on ComiXology Originals October 31 — but Popverse has an exclusive peek at what lies ahead, as you can see in the gallery below.
