Biker Mice from Mars, Power Lords, and Robo Force to return in 2024 from Nacelle Company and Oni Press
Your favorite forgotten Saturday morning cartoon heroes are making a comeback next Spring
Fans of Saturday morning cartoons from the 1980s and ‘90s, rejoice — not only is the Nacelle Company working to bring properties like Biker Mice from Mars, Sectors, and Power Lords back to life, but Oni Press has announced that it’s partnering with Nacelle to bring them back to comics, as well.
Spring 2024 will see the release of NacelleVerse #0, a 40-page one shot written by Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ Melissa Flores, with set by Diogenes Neves and other artists to be named, which will introduce a new interconnected universe of series that will include Robo Force, Biker Mice from Mars, and The Great Garloo. The issue will lead into a three-issue Robo Force miniseries which will itself lead into Nacelle’s upcoming animated Robo Force series. As the saying goes, it’s all connected…
In a statement to ComicBook.com, which broke the news of the new deal, Nacelle Founder and CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss said, “This fantastic partnership with Oni Press helps us expand our storytelling capabilities in a way that we know resonates with fans – through the limitless power of comics and graphic novels. Building upon the rich history of the many fan-favorite toy lines that populate the NacelleVerse and building a roadmap for fans to enter the interconnected world of our upcoming animated series, these series will be tailor-made entry point for longtime fans and new readers. Before anyone hits play on one of our series, they'll know exactly what the events leading up to the first fade are.”
"Toys and comics have a long and storied history of mutual admiration and cross-collaboration,” added Oni Press president & publisher Hunter Gorinson. “From Transformers and Micronauts to G.I. Joe and ROM, some of the most impactful comics stories ever told have drawn inspiration from the world of toys. Alongside our partners at Nacelle and our amazing cast of creators, we're working to craft the next chapter in that time-tested legacy. Having seen firsthand Nacelle's exciting and ambitious plans for the future, I know toy fans and comic readers alike are going to have a lot to look forward to in the NacelleVerse."
More information about the Nacelleverse — both from Oni Press and Nacelle’s own animated series — will be released in the coming months.
